Designed to cope well in harsh and aggressive environments UNS S31803/2205 is a cost-effective duplex stainless steel. Displaying effective resistance to stress corrosion cracking, corrosion resistance under warm seawater conditions and excellent pitting UNS S31803/2205 is used for a wide range of applications across numerous industries.

After many alloys failed UNS S31803/2205 was developed as a corrosion resistant material to be used for North Sea oil pumps. Following its success UNS S31803/2205 soon became the alloy of choice for many applications across a wide range of industries.

F51

UNS S32205 Stainless Steel is one of the more common stainless steels available. This particular compound is so popular due to the fact that it performs extremely well in a wide range of circumstances.

Over the last few decades, the standard S31803 composition has been refined somewhat. This in turn meant that the resulting composition was confirmed and all but endorsed as UNS S32205 back in 1996. This gave UNS S32205 better resistance to corrosion, although the majority if the S31803 also adheres to the S32205.
